The Black Panther Party's Free Breakfast
When i moved out to california, i discovered chicken and waffles. There was an offshoot in jacklin and square here in oakland that became the house of chicken of waffles. And i put fried chicken on my menu, and it was like, oh, we're open for breakfast. I should serve it with waffles. That's what we became known for. The other part historical moment in the book is the black panther party's free breakfast programme - which i was unaware of. They feed everyone was really important to them.
