Is There a Difference Between Western Therapy and Buddhist Therapy?

Buddhism can help us understand better what we're dealing with and managing these difficult experiences. Western therapy is much more effective in identifying patterns of experience that because Buddhism has such a focus on immediacy, sometimes just relate to a momentary sensation or disturbance then move on. In very fundamental existential type of life issues I think Buddhism is probably better at that then therapy, and especially Western therapy.
