Mariam: Even amongst adults the power of a candid compliment and reassurance works yeah to normalize. I think it's important especially with a team who's struggling or an individual who's struggling to be really authentic and candid even if they're just doing it a little bit like knowing that it's so hard for them is helpful. Mariam: We tend to look for patterns in other people because that gives us a sense of security and safety right when we know what to expect from each other. It could be an interesting conversation especially if people were feeling boxed into something and they didn't like what they were getting boxed in for, she says.
