Is There a Detrimental Effect of the Western Diet on Mental Health?
The change in our diet over the last 100 years is stunning. The biggest change though I think that's happened to our diet is the reduction in the availability of vitamins and minerals. If you're eating a mostly standard, a sad diet, then you will be eating mostly ultra processed products that are being depleted of their nutrients. They might be fortified with one or two or maybe a few, a few, but certainly not the full 30 that you need in order for your body and your brain to function optimally.
