The autonomic nervous system can be very quick. The changes that we see in these molecules may take a few minutes to onefold, but within five or 10 minutes you can see these changes. And there are things that we do in the laboratory that involve a quote social stress that is a completely made up scenario. It's not a real job interview. 90% of people show an elevation of cortisol in response to this.
