When we've gotten some healing under our belt we find ourselves expecting the same thing from those around us. Recovery doesn't um help us change other people it gives us the tools to relate to people better like Tracy Jesus says. If I'm practicing self-care I am more able to respond in a way that is loving and kind and gracious versus if I've not been sleeping well, making poor choices of diet or exercise.
