How Did You Become a Principal Investigator of a Sleep Lab?

I think everyone in my field is an accidental sleep researcher. For me, a my ph d was at the investigating dimentia and trying to differentially diagnose people ith different types of dimentia using brain wave patterns. And during that sort of time period, i was failing miserably. I had no results, no data. Nothing looked part useful. So i applied for a small grant, i was able to set up a sleep lab by myself. Some of them turned out to actually hit centres in the brain that word control sleep,. whereas others would not, apandono exactly. Others would sort of be elsewhere in the brain.
