The English language is terrible at describing the process of sensing things. When you say listen to your body, like the idea of my ears was a barrier. You can't even really hear it, because nobody's voice sounds to anyone else. But you can hear differences when you produce different kinds of sounds. Even though nobody else in the world will hear what you're hearing, you can still hear the differences and therefore it can be a partial guide.
