Is God the Supreme Lawgiver?

Some of his early biographers were convinced he was an atheist. Others say whel he was an agnostic. Hisstorians, such as frederick copplestone, are convinced he was a sincere theist. Here's what we do know from his official statements: We must believe in god. And i think may be one of the most helpful ways of looking at it. I think he identifies god with the moral law. He wants to extricate himselfhe the enlightenment idea, part of the project. But somehow god is the backing.
