The topic of injury and pain in the context of resistance training is something we've been talking about for a super along time. It's difficult to study this, because defining what an injury is also oftentimes hinges on pain. Different people will experience these things radically differently. Our bias, i think, in general, is that humans can adapt to a ton of different things. There is nothing about the actual movement of squatting or dead lifting that is itself inherently dangerous or injurious compared to almost any other movement humans can do.
