The news is a considerable source of stress that we don't really recognize. And it's in this way that novelty hunting itself becomes a source of stress. A study conducted around the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings looked at two groups of people. The first group were those who watched six or more hours of news coverage about the bombings. They were more likely to develop post-traumatic stress disorder as well.
