You won't find references to these in any brewery history book. People kind of forgot about them, although strangely enough they are mentioned in a couple of 19th century novels. Nobody could afford to brew this stuff anymore, because it was just too strong. If you're not careful, it's really going to make the taste pretty strange and undrinkable.
