Is Bicarb Helpful to Treat Acidosis?
There's lots of things that are correlated, but don't have anything to do with causation. People who are profoundly acidotic seem to die at a higher rate than people who are not. It may be that acidosis doesn't necessarily produce acidosis in the mitochondrial or intracellularly and therefore may not be that big of a deal. Some models find that acidosis actually may be a good thing.
