The Evolution of the Solar Clock

For most of the time that humans have been on earth we lived by the solar clock and our biological clocks. That's no longer the case because momentous change occurred in particular during the Industrial Revolution. The development of the incandescent lightbulb enabled people to work around the clock so our 24-7 shift-working society was born. This not only disrupted people's biological clocks it also enabled waking behaviors such as eating at times of day when people's clocks were promoting resting and sleep.
