Oedipus - The Eating Complex

The Oedipus story is archetypal in this ritualizing of mimetic desire and how it plays out in society. So whenever there is some sort of major event, whether it's a plague or whether it's some other kind of societal unrest, there has to be an explanation for why this is happening. This is where the problem of human culture creeps in.
