How to Show Assertiveness in Relationships

When the shit hits the fan, that's when you really have to be able to step up and show the assertiveness. That really gets cultivated by things like learning a bit of the combat sports or having the social assertiveness that you're kind of used to standing up to authority figures. The tender defender concept is really quite different from the alpha male concept because it's much more adaptive and flexible. We are not a species that runs on dominance where you try to go around physically intimidating people into getting what you want.
