The Sharjah Biennial, a South-South Discourse

The Sharjah biennial started in 1993, but it completely changed its format when Huo took over and when the foundation then became an institution. In 2005, there is a recorded conversation that Okwe gave at the March meeting, which when it was still symposium. He talks about this idea of multiple temporalities and historicity. And he left us with this question, how do you experience dislocation from the inside? So again, this idea of a South discourse, not always looking outward to the West or projecting from the West, but speaking to each other as we have been relegated in the region.
