Stress also shrinks the hippocampus, which is the site of working memory. The shrinking of it means there's less neura to create new associations. Under even mild stress, your body starts to constrict blood vessels and capillaries. It opens up these capillaries andth one result is a drop in blood pressure. And all of those things have very positive effects on other factors such as ongoing tissue or heart health.
