The good old pivens and accessory movements are a very good diagnostic test for pain provocation. As in the knee I would look at their muscle system so I'd look at their flexes, extensors and axioscapular muscles. The other system I've left out completely is the nervous system. If patients are complaining of tingling and numbness I'm going to do a neurological examination.
