The Origin of the Death Drive

Freud's theory is that organisms emerged at point in history from inorganic matter. He claims they possess the inherent drive to return to that inorganic state. The speculative theory also includes an account of the development of the simplestun cellular organism, a vesicl which needed to develop a protective cortical layer so as not to be destroyed by external forces.
