The History of Hysteria

The author of her grandmother's hand taught me this phrase. What's hysterical is historical, meaning that when we react or behave in ways that is out of proportion of the situation there's usually something historical there. Some unhealed wound from our past that's getting triggered or scratched. We often keep on yelling or going down that path that we don't want to go down instead of pausing and wondering what's the wound underneath that trigger that I can direct my energy and attention into healing.
