In 1953, Alfred Kinsey published his groundbreaking research titled, Sexual Behavior in the Human Female. Fashion suddenly featured strapless dresses, plunging necklines, and bare mid-drifts. Maiden form launched a famous campaign of print ads that showed women clad only in girdles. All in all, it was an attitude that was quite a few neighborhoods away from June Cleaver.
