A favorite quote that came up in the context of this work came from Neil Postman, who was a really well-known philosopher and social critic. He famously said when the printing press came along, it wasn't like you had medieval Europe plus the printing press. It just changed the way everything worked. In 2001, we didn't just have the 1991 office plus email. We had a completely different type of office. What work meant the ecology of work completely transformed once this tool was here.
