Is the Brain Sleeping?

Sturiestoh: It used to be thought that the brain slept homogeneously. In certain mammals, like whales and dolphins, they can sleep unhemispherically. Sturiestoh: Even when you're awake and doing a task, there can be areas of your brain that look like they're fully asleep. The amplitude of slow waves and the presence of slow waves can appear in some areas and not others.
