When I was coaching soccer and soccer teams, I would very specifically give recovery activities or zero activity depending on what it is. But you know, the reality is that I have not been doing that quite as much with runners. We often plan the rest really only with regard to what we're not doing in the upcoming workouts. That's just leaving out intensity.
