Is This Therapy for You?
Mark is the perfect candidate for this therapy. The modality is evidence based. Mark, do you want to change this? I ask gently. Do you want to trust people? He almost laughs. Hell no. After I leave your office, I have to walk back down there on this unit where I can't trust anybody. It's practically impossible to heal from trauma when you're still going through it. Hearing this is my job, but I'm also human. And sometimes listening to their stories, my heart breaks."
