The basic patterns have been conserved in vertebrates and invertebrates for like hundreds of millions of years. That's pretty amazing. Indeed, single celled animals before them for almost a billion years. So you make a neuron in your brain and it stays with you, never divides again. And we'll talk about later, it doesn't get replaced either generally. As more and more neural stem cells and their daughters make decisions, I'm not going to divide again, those cells come out of the division cycle, out of the proliferation cycle. They start to become the maturing neurons and cells of our brain,. neurons and glial cells ofOur brain.
