Jay Parini: There is an article recently published in a global sustainability by, there's about a dozen, maybe eight authors on here. It's called Discourses of Climate Delay and it identifies 12 categories that are disruptive changes not necessary or push non-transformative solutions. Parini: A lot of these are not kind of intrinsically problematic but once you get into the weeds they become problematic. The role of government and collective action in facilitating individual action should be taken more seriously than just encouraging people to do things like recycle.
