Identifying Judgments and Translating Them Into Needs
A key part of managing anger is being able to identify the judgment making us angry. We can develop our ability to do this quickly enough to do it in real situations if we can practice identifying judgments and translating them into needs. An exercise I would recommend to you is to list the kind of judgments that are likely to go on inside of you when you are angry. You might then go back over this list and ask yourself what was I needing that was being expressed through that judgment.
