Pendulums and Waves

A pendulum is just a weight suspended from a pivot so that it can swing freely. Pendulums are an example of wave motion, especially if you represent the distance between its horizontal position or its vertical position either way. The size of the swing doesn't actually matter and this is why they're used in grandfather clocks for time keeping. All clocks essentially work by counting vibrations or counts of some repeated periods of motion. electronic clocks just calculate the changes in polarity but we'll do that in electronics one day.
