How to Get Startup Experience if You're Not Given the Chance

For startups, if you're an SE who's been doing this for like two, three, four years, is there a minimum experience range that they look for at startups as far as you know? For a first. Like in terms of how many years have you been in an SE in the past? I don't know if it's terribly prescriptive, but you know, for your first SE, you want someone who's been at a startup before and understands the pace and that you will be wearing multiple hats, things, you know, things, things change and quickly.
