Can Chewing Gum Cause Bloating?

The gut will trigger the brain via the gut brain axis to contract the diaphragm and relax the stomach muscles. This can cause severe belly protrusion which is where many people describe looking six months pregnant also. Chewing gum in particular and other sugar free foods actually contain ingredients called polyols which are known as artificial sweeteners, things such as manatols, orbitals, isylitol,. anything that ends in OL and these are known to trigger bloating.
