You don't want this client to fail. You want them to move on and to make that as painless as possible. If you know another firm, and there are a lot of good firms, where they wouldn't view this client as a punishment, then by all means, try to introduce them to somebody else. There's other times when you might decide you're gone for good, and you are find burning all the bridges and throwing gasolene on em. That is also a good strategy, if you've got nothing to lose.
