If you want to make that cardio more effective for your diabetes, instead of doing 30 minutes on the treadmill, do 10-minute walks after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Don't go overboard because it sounds like you're trending towards the place where you're not going to be able to maintain. If you can see yourself getting up at 4 o'clock in the morning and going for a run 30 minutes, it's been fine. Very few people I know do that consistently forever. So if you don't see yourself doing that forever, be cautious about just adding more and more to the routine.
