The Importance of Mindfulness
Nibana means craving. When you let go of the craving, you start relaxing more into the hindrances and letting them go. This causes a personality change. Mindfulness is remembering to observe how mind's attention moves from one thing to another. The impersonal nature of these thoughts and feelings that come up distract you away from your object of meditation.
