By 2003, in the U.S., only 10% of children ever played outside without adult supervision. Even those kids who did play outside, they got an average of like 10 minutes a week. So effectively, even before COVID, childhood became something that happened behind closed doors under tight adult supervision. Exercise boosts your ability to focus and pay attention. And we have massively reduced the amount of time children are able to run around play freely. In fact, one of the only circumstances where our children get to feel they're exploring is when they're playing Fortnite and other video games.
