The Stain With the Breath Practice
When a strong emotion comes up and your primary practice is the breath, you drop the breath. You let the breath go in the background and you let the dominant object come into the foreground. So don't worry about the breath. If an emotion's really strong, just give your attention to the emotion. Feel what that emotion feels like. And then as it passes, then bring the breath back again. But you can be mindful of anything, including strong emotions like anger. They don't have to take over.
