The Importance of Primary Prevention
The most intuitive indication is for secondary prevention. This is our patients who have ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibulation, or they had a cardiac arrest and we think it's because of a cardiac cause. So you want to prevent a second event in these patients. You want to make sure that the patient has had at least three months of goal-directed medical therapy. And as a throwback to our GDMT episode, at goal means three months of guideline-directed medical Therapy.
