Steinbeck's World War I Story
During world war too, steinbeck went overseas to be a war correspondent. A lot of journalists felt like the war had been tapped tapped out, journalistically speaking. But steinbeck realized almost immediately that what people back home really wanted was sort of these zoomed in pictures on the little things. And so he found stories everywhere.
