Optimism and Hope in Therapy
The optimism and hope doesn't always just get generated from the relationship with the therapist. It's some combination of what the person is bringing regarding like what they hope this thing can do even vaguely. And then maybe some feedback that they get from people that they encounter, even if it doesn't go very well. I still feel like I kind of believe this. There's maybe a slower process for some people versus some certain problems versus other social but I certainly would feel as a therapist like like I am failing in some way if I had the fourth session or fifth session or whatever the client does not feel like something new was right.
