In 19 94, i moved to the us. and ended up running tech companies for a vench capital firm. My observation was that everybody came into work and worked very diligently and went home again. It wasn't a sort of, ah, what i think of is a sort of jolly hum - it certainly didn't sound like companies i'd run in the u.K.
