When self energy comes in in regular life I noticed for myself everything slows down. In that moment I'm not thinking about fixing it with the person I care about. And that's why we want to take action before connecting. So, let's use the same example of finding an exile in a dark place. If we have the impulse of, all right, I want to unburden that exile and retrieve it and so on. That is another sign that it's a self like part that it's an IFS enthusiast who's focused on the end result, rather than again being with the part.
