In the Western world, it's told that we need eight hours of sleep minimum. Ancient Eastern wisdom does not uphold this belief per se. We can live on much fewer hours of sleep if our body is healthy. The sickest of the sick could never get enough sleep and the healthiest of the healthy might not need any sleep at all or need very little.
