The Pressure on Young People in the US

The relationship between perfectionism and success in places like school or work is very small. And that's really perplexing, isn't it? Because we know perfectionists put tremendous amount of effort forward. But yet it doesn't seem that hard work is translating into better performance. What you see with perfectionists is that on the second trial, they just withhold all their effort. The non-perfectionists carry on putting more effort in next time. So for me, that's the biggest thing. Our perfectionists successful people.
