i remember when my grandmother was getting old, and she always would make what we understood to be jewish food. She also made something called kosed soat, which were basically hamburgers, but there was an egg in them. But the interesting thing was that when she started to get too old and she wasn't really able to make the food well any more, our wife and i would come over every week for a shabot dinner at her house. We would bring take out from an indian restaurant or a chinese restaurant or something.
