How to Start a Newsletter Advertising Campaign
For the first like four years or so of my newsletter, I didn't run ads in it. It's not good for readers. The interests aren't aligned. Now you're sort of serving the advertisers. They're annoying. And then a reader reached out to me and she was a therapist who specialized in helping creative people. She said that running an ad in Anne Friedman's newsletter had done really well for her. So again, it's the ads started.
