The Importance of Sharing Your Passion

For me if I find something really is awesome for me I want to share it like when I started doing fasting. When my videos were ripping throughout high school everyone found out about my YouTube videos and they loved it, so that's pretty much the kind of way my brain is wired. There are a couple of different periods in your life where you put out content but people supported it but then they clouded it and then it made you insecure. So there's a few moments one was when he was probably 14 or 15 putting videos on YouTube and I actually got a lot of traction at 14 15 but not necessarily the right traction.

And you saw that right away? I saw that right away and
Speaker 1
even like when I was watching some of those movies like what would really inspire me the most was like you know in Rocky like when he's training and he's working on he's doing push-ups he's boxing like I loved the work it took to kind of get the result and even in a lot of the kung fu movies you do see like this training component so like I was very drawn to like the the discipline and the training to get the result. It's
Speaker 2
funny because a lot of people start out and they are super interested in lifting weights but then they're like like that's not for me but for you it seems like it's been literally every year you've just got a more and more invested and interested in lifting and helping people so why is that
Speaker 1
the case? Well for me if I love something I like sharing it like if I find something really is awesome for me I want to share it like when I started doing fasting I was telling my friends I'm like telling us yes what are you doing eating breakfast we got to start fasting the benefits you know so when I find something I love I like to share it hence why I started going on YouTube when I was very young so that's pretty much the that's the kind of the way my brain is wired when I figure something out my initial impulse is to start sharing with people. Yeah I
Speaker 2
am as well like I found from doing 300 plus episodes such a common theme for content creators and people who end up making it online is like they have that same impulse the impulse to share the impulse to look at the world and be like I like that or I dislike that and I want to tell everyone about it.
Speaker 1
Yeah no
Speaker 2
exactly exactly. So like for you I know there were a couple of different periods in your life where you put out content but people supported it but then they clouded it and then it made you insecure. Take me back to
Speaker 1
that place. So there's a few moments one was when I was probably 14 or 15 putting videos on YouTube and I actually got a lot of traction at 14 15 but not necessarily the right traction like when you have legs like I didn't I was 15 I was like I wanted to inspire other teenagers like teen workout and I would get a lot of gay attention which you know wasn't necessarily what I was looking for so that sort of discouraged me because I was the wrong followers I was trying to share fitness instead I was getting very creepy messages as well like when my videos were really ripping throughout high school everyone found out about my YouTube videos and they loved it they're like oh this is awesome like good for you. Wow like you got all this attention but I was still shy back then and didn't like my sort of YouTube online presence being like so publicly known amongst like my school and stuff but I will say that period I was posting and like I was getting like like it wasn't like I was posting and almost seeing it like I was like holy shit like I if you were there like if you struck the iron wall is hot you could get attention very easily and then like YouTube used to have this feature where if you said the content was sports or entertainment then if it ranked well in your city in your country it would be shown on the feet so used to be able to be able to like search videos differently and a lot of times my videos would rank like pop in sports and lots of people would see it that was the first time and I did like essentially delete that channel and lead all the videos and then I started up again years later and that's when it was a little bit slower to take off and that's when I kind of like had sort of my own theme of fitness back then I was just kind of sharing what you know I was doing then I had like a theme kind of going against the grain of bodybuilding and focusing more on the leanness not obsessing about squats and deadlifts and that's when I got a lot of flack but the flack was good I like bodybuilding.com was ripping me up and then but I some followers would stick and loved it and I didn't mind I didn't mind the negative attention I preferred that then like the creepy messages.
