If you can build software, you should learn how to build soft forget earth observation. There's a bunch of open data sets that exist to day that didn't exist ten years ago. The main thing is being lazer focused on how you want to apply this technology for good in a very narrow and specific way. And so if you have that, then it's pretty to go find resources to get started. But what remains difficult is having a compelling story to tell about why they should put resources towards you. That's the thing that's hardest to come by.
