If you can get a cold pressed, minimally processed, extra virgin olive oil, like an early harvest, they are fantastic. I would spend more on oils personally. There are some really lovely brands of canned fish that are cheaper than fresh, but they're preserved in things like extrairgin olive oil. Fermented foods as well: When you're getting your kimchi's or sauerkraut’s, there are definitely the more expensive ones that are high quality. You can very easily make your own ferments to use up leftovers such as fennel and lemon pickles.
