static hold stretching and lengthening the tendon can actually cause injury or reduce power production. Static stretch is not bad, it's just bad when you do it at the wrong time. We've had an athlete, a professional cyclist that had some chronic low back issues who was able to get over it by restoring mobility and length to the spine after doing this kind of work.
